NEWS

  • Dec. 20, 2020: New article published in Crystals describing the collaborative work performed at the EuXFEL in Hamburg, investigating the potential shockwave damages induced by the powerful and high repetitive rate of the X-ray beam.

  • Oct. 15, 2020: New article published in PLoS Pathogens arising from my work performed at IHPE in Perpignan with Benjamin Gourbal, a collaborative national effort to understand the molecular mechanisms of trans-generational tranfer of immunity in insects.

  • Oct. 5, 2020: This day is the last of me as a precarious researcher in Academia and the first as a full-time R&D scientist in Industry (Food Microbiology et al.). Less peer-reviewed articles, but the same devotion to discover new things and help society at large, albeit by different means now!

  • Sept. 24, 2020: New article published in PLoS Pathogens in collaboration with Katja Dierking and Hinrich Schulenburg on the immune response of Caenorhabditis elegans against different strains of Bacillus thuringiensis. I modestly contributed to this work but very proud of being part of it!

  • June 05, 2020: Welcome to this brand new version of my website! Some sections are still under construction but I will update it in the forthcoming days/weeks/months :) Your feedback is more than welcome!

  • May 31, 2020: I am the guest editor of a Special Issue on "The Pivotal Role of Toxins in Insects-Bacteria Interactions" in the journal Toxins (deadline May 31, 2021). Check it here!

  • May 19, 2020: Two visioconferences with classes from French high-schools (and more to come!) to explain what is scientific research, how it is done and by whom. Done in the context of "Comptoir des Sciences" from the "cercle FSER" promoting outreach SciComm events.

  • April 29, 2020: Nice coverage of our Nature Communications article by various academic and Institute websites, blogs and social networks. So happy!

  • April 23, 2020: I have been interviewed for a documentary by the Canadian TV (RadioCanada) on the impact of the use of Bti for mosquito control on the ecosystem (in French, subtitles available). It echoes our recently published review on this theme.

  • April 6, 2020: I am talking about my research (and about research in general) in "La Bio Au Labo" on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram (in French), hosted by the "cercle FSER" promoting outreach SciComm events. If you missed it, it will be available in full here.

  • April 2, 2020: We published a comprehensive and balanced review on the socioeconomic and environmental impact of the use of the bioinsecticide Bti for mosquito control. It arises from a meeting hosted in Landau 2 years ago by C. Brühl and S. Allgeier.

  • March 2, 2020: Our last article is published in Nature Communications! This is one of the most comprehensive study I have been working on so far, elucidating the bioactivation pathway of the toxin Cyt1Aa, from in vivo crystallization to cell lysis. Article available here.

  • Jan. 12, 2020: New article describing a new family of toxins potentially helping in the defense of a mollusk against pathogens. Read it here.

  • Aug. 19, 2019: Our comprehensive review on the trans-generational immune priming in invertebrates is finally published in Frontiers in Immunology. A long and tedious journey finally available here.

  • Dec. 14, 2018: New article describing the carry-over effect of exposure to Bti in mosquitoes, promoting increased vectorial competence to Dengue (but not to Chikungunya!) in adults. In collaboration with L. Lambrechts from Pasteur Institute.

  • Nov. 22, 2018: New article describing the genome of Trichoplusia ni assembled at the chromosome level. Spoiler: Hi5 cells from T. ni are more different from T. ni than other lepidopterans! Learn more here.

  • July 8, 2018: New article published in the journal Toxins on the interaction between insects, toxins and bacteria. I am particularly happy and proud and I hope it will lead to thinking between scientific disciplines. Read it here.
